Panama City resident receives individual recognition

TALLAHASSEE -- Panama City resident Eva Burd took home the Goodwill Industries-Big Bend employee of distinction award at this year’s annual board meeting recently.

Burd was left widowed 21 years ago with two small children after a horrific car accident, Goodwill officials said in a press release. She faced a mountain of obstacles following the accident. Burd was recommended for the Ticket to Work program, and subsequently hired at the Beach store in May 2012.

Goodwill Industries-Big Bend Inc. recently held its annual Power to Work Awards and board meeting, celebrating the past year’s achievements .
