The Florida Department of Transportation issued several lane closure and construction advisories for motorists in the Northwest Florida area Friday.
Drivers should expect alternating lane closures at the intersection of Airport Road and Jenks Avenue in Panama City between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Sunday and Tuesday due to a repaving project.
Those traveling on Back Beach Road in Panama City Beach between the Thomas Drive Flyover and Heather Drive will continue to experience temporary lane closures from 9:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. as crews complete sidewalk construction, and curb and gutter work.
Additionally, State Road 73 between County Road 167 and the Chipola River Bridge in Marianna will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday until about 5 p.m. Monday. Drivers will be rerouted to U.S. 90, U.S. 90, Penn Avenue, South Street and S.R. 73.
Paving work will also continue on S.R. 71 between the Calhoun County line and Malloy Plaza Road south of I-10, and also in the town of Alford between Mill Road and Brock Road. The $1.6 million Alford project includes resurfacing, drainage work and safety improvements.
All construction activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to pay attention and use caution when driving through the work zone.
