While the Northeast Florida Beaches International Airport saw 1.79 inches of rain through 6 p.m. Friday, and Tyndall Air Force Base recorded 1.2, areas north and west of Bay County were hit harder.

Flooding forced the closure of numerous roads in Walton and Washington counties on Friday, and Washington County declared a state of emergency, as 2.9 inches of rain had fallen in the Greenhead area by Friday afternoon and the Choctawhatchee River at Ebro began to rise again. By 5 p.m. Friday, the river stood at 15.28 at Ebro; flood stage is 13 feet, and the river is forecast to rise above 17 feet by this afternoon. Major flooding occurs at 16.5 feet.

The situation was not much better on the Chipola River at Altha. At 6 p.m. Friday, the river stood at 23.07 feet and was forecast to rise above 27 feet by Sunday; major flooding occurs at 30 feet, although some houses, mobile homes and fish camps are affected at 23 feet.

Other areas impacted by the storms were DeFuniak Springs, which saw 5.22 inches of rain between Thursday night and Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service Tallahassee; Bonifay, which measured 3.58 inches through Friday afternoon; and Apalachicola, where 1.63 inches of rain fell by 7 p.m. In Jackson County, flooding forced the closure of Fairview Road between Thompson Road and Kynesville Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol; the Northwest Florida Water Management District field office in Marianna recorded 2.73 inches through Friday afternoon.
