PANAMA CITY -- Gulf Coast State College is hosting Startup Weekend Panama City beginning Friday in partnership with the Millway Institute for Entrepreneurship and Florida Small Business Development Center.
The event is a chance for developers, designers, marketers, product managers and entrepreneurs to meet up to share ideas, form teams, build products and launch startup companies.
Startup Weekend kicks off at the college’s Advanced Technology Center tonight with open mic pitches and continues through Sunday, with activities planned to build teams, discuss startup methodologies and develop a viable product.
“The goal of Startup Weekend is to create an environment where passionate people can come together to take action, learn, network, and gain valuable experience to launch their ideas,” said Steve Dunnivand, dean of the Advanced Technology Center. “Gulf Coast State College is proud to be a part of this type of innovative collaboration designed to drive local economic growth.”
