TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE -- Tyndall Air Force Base will host a town hall meeting to discuss the Tyndall Waterway Security proposal at 6 p.m. on Dec. 19, in the Sarzin Lecture Hall at Gulf Coast State College.
The proposal has taken 10 years to develop and will establish temporary security buffer zones reaching 500 feet into various waterways when enacted by base officials during periods of heightened security.
Tyndall officials have already sought feedback from elected officials and concerned citizens.
This town hall meeting is the first of several open public forums being scheduled to discuss the proposal before beginning the official coordination process with the Army Corps of Engineers.
Tyndall will schedule additional town hall meetings concerning the proposal during the coming months at various locations within the community.
