Callaway appoints interim city manager

CALLAWAY -- Callaway’s city planner has been appointed to interim city manager.

Michael Fuller, formerly Callaway’s director of planning, was appointed interim city manager effective following the vote of approval at Tuesday night’s special meeting.

Current City Manager Marcus Collins is retiring effective Thursday and will spend the last two days on the job teaching Fuller how to operate in his new temporary capacity.

Officials did not discuss a process or schedule for hiring a new city manager.

Also at the meeting, commissioners unanimously approved the waiver of water bill late fees because utility bills were sent out late this month.

Fees will be waived up until May 25; however, the cutoff date will not change. For more information call City Hall at 871-6000.
