Our service trucks carry a large inventory of parts and therefore over 90 percent of the time the repair is completed the same day. In most cases we offer same-day service and we also offer emergency service on refrigerators, freezers and HVAC systems if needed after business hours or on weekends. If you are a do-it-yourselfer, we sell parts. We have parts specialists to research parts and a service specialist to help answer appliance repair questions.
Years in business: Independent Appliance, Inc. has been in business for over 30 years. This October will be 33 years that we have been serving Bay County’s appliance parts and repair needs.
How did you get into this business? Mike Norred grew up in the appliance business because his dad, Johnny, operated several appliance businesses in Bay County as well as in Alabama. Mike Norred started Independent Appliance selling used appliances in 1982 and over the next 33 years it progressed to an appliance repair and parts business. Mike’s wife, Debbie, joined the business in 1992 and their son Blake joined the business in 2009 as the service and parts manager. Recently Debbie’s brother Roger Jones also joined the business in a management position. Independent Appliance prides itself in being a family-owned and operated business that genuinely cares about its customers. They always go the extra mile.
What do you like most about your business? The most fulfilling part of the appliance business is being able to help people who are in need. People that call our business always have an appliance need and with over 30 years of experience and the largest inventory of parts in Bay County we are able to meet their needs professionally and promptly.
