PANAMA CITY -- The Bay County Branch NAACP will be addressing the recent outbreak in gun-violence during a “Stop the Violence” demonstration Saturday.

Organizers invite the public to join the event for a forum and panel discussion this Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center, 705 E. 14th Court.

Experts and youth will talk about the recent surge in gun violence that has impacted the community and has left lives changed through death, injury and long-term incarceration. The forum will focus on conflict resolution, anger management and aims to impart a realistic view of prison life.

The forum is open to all and is geared to both adults and young people. Mayor Greg Brudnicki and Panama City commissioners are expected to attend. Food and beverages will be available.

The program is sponsored by several community organizations, including Rainbow PUSH, Bay County NAACP and the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.

For additional information, contact Rev. Rufus Wood at 850-630-1113.
