HELENA, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say four people were hurt when a small airplane crashed in metro Birmingham near the Bessemer airport.
The plane went down Thursday afternoon in Helena. WBRC-TV in Birmingham reported the plane took off in Panama City.
Authorities say the aircraft was bound for the Bessemer airport when it crashed near a home.
The conditions of the occupants weren't immediately available, but WBRC reported a witness saw the crash and helped pull the passengers — a man and wife and their son and son's girlfriend — from the wreckage. The report said all people on board were conscious but suffering injuries.
