PANAMA CITY – The Downtown Improvement Board received a turnout of about 20 volunteers on Wednesday to help with the operations of events, starting with Oktoberfest on Sept. 26 and 27.
“These have been very successful events,” DIB Chairman Jim Hayden said. “We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel here.”
Hayden assigned people to port-o-potties, cable wires and trash cans. The volunteers will start working today, calling vendors. Hayden also discussed establishing an ambassador program and getting volunteers for office operations. Several people applied for the latter.
“I’m lining you up for later,” he said.
