Pedestrian dies in crash

WEWAHITCHKA —  A woman standing in State Road 71 in Calhoun County was killed early Saturday when she was hit by vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Carlee J. Daniels, 43, of Wewahitchka, was in the southbound lane just south of State Road 73 about 12:30 a.m. when she was struck by a 2001 Honda Accord driven by Tamika De’Shawn Gates, 28, of Blountstown, the FHP reported.

Daniels struck the hood and windshield. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gates suffered minor injuries.
