PANAMA CITY -- The first day of early voting for the 2014 general election brought 2,768 Bay County voters to the polls on Saturday.
Totals for ballots cast at the close of the first voting day tally up to 10,198 votes by mail and two provisional ballots, in addition to ballots cast at the precincts, for a grand total of 12,968 votes.
Republicans have weighed in the heaviest by mail and with in-person votes.
Early voting will resume Sunday morning and go from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day through Saturday, Nov. 1.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
