FSU commemorative section coming Tuesday

It would be hard for FSU fans to draft a more dramatic ending than what unfolded Monday night in Pasadena as the ‘Noles rose to the challenge they hadn’t faced all year and vaulted past an inspired Auburn team to claim the 2013 national title.

The News Herald, in recognition of that achievement and the remarkable way this season touched FSU fans, is publishing a commemorative section in Tuesday’s paper recapping the team’s triumphs. Subscribers to The News Herald will receive it as part of their regular delivery, as will customers who purchase single copies out of newspaper racks or at area businesses.

It will feature stories and art dedicated to each game of the season, a special center section featuring Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, and recaps of the season, the ACC championship game and the victory over Auburn.

We see it as the right way to cap off a year of News Herald coverage that included traveling to FSU’s home games and sending a reporter and photographers to Pasadena to cover the game and the events leading up to it. For a look at our coverage of the national championship game, click here.

There will be a limited supply of the commemorative sections, so if you’d like to reserve 10 or more copies in advance, please call the circulation department, 850-747-5050 to make arrangements. The News Herald also will have individual copies for sale at our office, 501 W. 11th St., Panama City, for 75 cents beginning Tuesday. After Tuesday any remaining copies will be available for purchase here for $1 each.
