PANAMA CITY — When some people can’t get things, according to Emily Theriot, you have to help them out.
Emily is the secretary of the Arnold High Key Club, which donated 10 to 15 bags of coats Wednesday to the Panama City Rescue Mission. Members of the club and Arnold High Principal Keith Bland were at the Rescue Mission Wednesday for the donation.
Jan Hurst, a Key Club sponsor and Arnold High teacher, said the 40 members of the Key Club try to do a service project every other month. This is the second year the Key Club has donated coats, a campaign suggested by a student, Hurst said, and donations came from students and faculty.
“Everyone just pitched in,” Hurst said.
Coats are one thing those at the mission can always take, Emily said.
“I am so proud of our students and faculty for supporting our efforts to give back to our community,” Hurst said.
