PANAMA CITY — Gulf Coast State College’s Gulf/Franklin Campus (GFC) is now accepting applications for the Practical Nursing Program to begin in June.
The practical nursing curriculum consists of 45 vocational credit hours including human structure and function, pharmacology, medical terminology, nursing and math courses. Instruction is held in the classroom, campus lab and clinical facilities. Advanced standing is awarded to students who are certified nurses aides and meet specified criteria. Successful completion of this one-year career program allows graduates to sit for the national exam to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN.)
Only one class of 36 students is admitted each year in the summer semester, so spots are limited. The deadline to apply for the program is April 30. To download the application packet, click here.
