PANAMA CITY — Because of Spring Break, the Bay District School Board will have only one public meeting in March. The meeting will take place Tuesday on March 10 at the Nelson Building, beginning at 1 p.m.

At the meeting Tuesday, Bay District Schools Superintendent Bill Husfelt is scheduled to recommend for the School Board to approve having a health technician at all Bay District Schools.

Board Chairman Steve Moss said this is to address student health concerns. The positions would be paid for through a combination of local, state and federal funding.

Another new position the board will consider is a job description for a teacher recruiter for Bay District Schools. Moss said there is a slight shortage of the teachers for position the district needs to fill. According to Moss, this recruiter would go to college campuses to recruit potential teachers.

The School Board also expected is to approve new math textbooks for grades 6-12.
