New on Netflix (March 7)

Netflix has you covered if you’re in the mood for comedy.

Aziz Ansari, he of the now gone “Parks and Recreation” debuted his new standup routine “Live at Madison Square Garden.” The show was available starting on Friday and features the comedian’s familiar brand of storytelling with hilarious endings.

Netflix also rolled out another original series, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.” Created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, “Schmidt” tracks Ellie Kemper (“The Office”) as a woman rescued from a doomsday cult who becomes a nanny for a socialite. That description alone is worth getting you to watch.

Also out on Netflix is Season 3 of “House of Cards.” This time we see Frank Underwood’s often frustrating moments as President of the United States. There’s less intense drama (and murder) and more political intrigue this season. However, it’s a show about politics so it’s expected.

Other “new” offerings this weekend include Season 5 of “Archer” and “Glee.” Movie options include “Hansel and Gretel” and “Twilight” among other passable flicks.

I checked out Aziz's new special and it was good. it wasn't as hilarious as past ones, but still entertaining. I have a suggestion for Netflix, however.

They need to start actually broadcasting these events live. This was taped in October and you can imagine the ratings they'd get for broadcasting it live then streaming later.

I'm currently also watching "Schmidt." It has promise.
