Boat Parade of Lights, Winterfest set for Saturday

PANAMA CITY — The 27th annual Boat Parade of Lights will set sail just off the St. Andrew Bay Yacht Club on Saturday.

Boats will light up at 5:30 p.m. and then parade in front of the judges at Panama City Marina. The fleet then turns west and proceeds to St. Andrews Marina.

The 2013 Boat Parade decorating theme is “A Hero’s Christmas – A Holiday Salute to our Troops”.

There is a mandatory captain’s meeting today 6 p.m. at the Shrimp Boat Restaurant at 1201 Beck Ave. Anyone planning to enter a vessel in the parade is required to attend this meeting.

Several boats remain docked in St. Andrews Marina for several days, lighting up the boats each night.

Spectators are invited to watch from waterfront restaurants, Panama City and St. Andrews marinas, and waterfront parks along the route.

Additional festivities include a Tailgate Party at both marinas, Winterfest, with craft and food vendors, chili cook-off and live music, will be at the Downtown Panama City Marina from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be a Boat Parade Holiday Market on the St. Andrews Marina from 4 to 8 p.m.
