SPRINGFIELD – Springfield Commission will discuss traffic changes to Fifth Street before the start of school.
The city will make Fifth Street between Helen and School avenues one-way because it is adjacent to Everitt Middle School and Springfield Elementary.
The commission also will continue budget discussions. Hammond said the commission did not have any questions at the previous budget meeting. The city is considering its first ad valorem tax, which is likely to fall between 3 and 3.5 mills.
The commission also will discuss an ordinance to make its homeless shelter moratorium more permanent. Mayor Ralph Hammond said the ordinance would bar homeless shelters in residential areas.
The Springfield Commission workshop is noon Monday at 3529 E. Third St.
