PANAMA CITY — The Bay County University of Florida/IFAS Extension Office will hold a four-week vegetable gardening course, starting in January. The interactive video classes will cover “everything the gardener needs to know to get started,” according to a county news release.
The program is $30 per person and $45 for couples. The classes will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Extension Office at 225 McKenzie Ave. in Panama City. Classes start Jan. 14.
The class schedule includes:
Jan. 14 – Homeowner Vegetable Garden Expectations: What to grow and seasonal information, site selection and improving soils
Jan. 21 – Specifics on Tomatoes, Peppers, Squash and Cucumber and Seeding and Transplanting Basics
Jan. 28 – General Garden Maintenance: Watering, fertilizing, integrated pest management, management techniques for home gardeners
Feb. 4 – Harvesting, Troubleshooting Vegetable Garden Problems
