BAYOU GEORGE — The county is collecting live Christmas trees to burn in its waste-to-energy facility.
Trees can be left at four drop-off locations in Bay County between Monday and Jan. 10. The trees will be taken to the county’s incinerator off U.S. 231 and burned, turning them into electricity. It offers an “easy, environmentally friendly means of disposing this year’s Christmas tree,” according to a county news release.
Residential trees may be dropped off at:
— H.G. Harders Park, 7900 John Pitts Road, Bayou George
— Pete Edwards Field, 7300 McElvey Road, Panama City Beach
— Bay County Waste-to-Energy Facility, 6510 Bayline Drive, Bayou George
— Steelfield Road Landfill, 11411 Landfill Road,West Bay
Commercial trees may only be dropped off at the Waste-to-Energy Facility and the Steelfield Road Landfill.
