PANAMA CITY — Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart Health System recently welcomed Jan Thornton as its new chief nursing officer (CNO).
Thornton joins the hospital with 25 years of nursing leadership in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings, which include Coral Springs Medical Center in Coral Springs and Community Health Systems in Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, where she most recently served as CNO with River Region Health System. Thornton carries a masters in Healthcare Administration and a bachelor’s in Nursing. She is also a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and carries certification with the American Board of Quality Utilization Review for Physicians.
Bay Medical Sacred Heart President and CEO Barry Keel welcomed Thornton to the team, highlighting her affinity for patient satisfaction.
“Jan is a hands-on, results-oriented leader and has a track record of success with improving employee, physician and patient satisfaction and implementing best practices within the patient care setting,” Keel said. “We are very pleased to have her on our team.”
