LYNN HAVEN — The Lynn Haven commission tabled a proposal on Tuesday to pay $140,000 of engineering costs to the Florida Department of Transportation to move city utilities during State 390 expansion.
“We pulled it to have time to review for potential cost savings,” City Manager Joel Schubert said. “$140 sounds a little high.”
The original plan was to use FDOT’s engineering work to determine places where water and sewer lines needed to be replaced. Schubert will look into using city engineering firm Panhandle Engineering to see if that might be a cost saving or if there might be some other way to save on the cost. As of yet, a deadline has not been set by FDOT to take care of engineering costs, with construction not to begin until 2017.
In other business, the commission approved de-annexing a parcel at 34th Place and County 389 and approved grant applications for the 17th Street ditch and to elevate 1618 Carolina Ave.
