WEST BAY -- The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services announced that harvest areas 0822 West Bay, 1012 North Bay Western and 1022 North Bay Eastern will reopen at sunrise Thursday for the harvest of oysters, clams, and mussels.
In this context, shellfish does not include scallops, shrimp, or crabs.
The action was taken after fecal coliform test results indicate that water quality meets legal standards.
Anyone with questions about the closing of shellfish harvesting areas can contact Loanna Torrance or Jillian Fleiger at 850-236-2200.
